About Ms. Bright

After graduating from the Honors Program at Oklahoma State University in Spring 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and completing one year with Stillwater Public Schools, I accepted a full-time teaching position at East Middle School. I have taught 8th Grade Reading, English, and Accelerated English courses over the span of eleven years. In 2003, I returned to OSU part-time to pursue a Master's Degree in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership with an option in Reading and Literacy Education. Upon completing this degree in 2005, I became a certified Reading Specialist. In 2006, I earned National Board Certification in the area of English Language Arts - Early Adolescence (ages 11-15) after a lengthy application process. I now teach five Reading classes each day at EMS.  This will be my second fellowship with Fund For Teachers, and I'm very excited about traveling to Europe to experience my favorite fairytale lands in person!
