I was fortunate enough to know I wanted to be a teacher at an early age. I worked towards my goal and am lucky to have a job I love. Having the opportunity to share my passion for reading is just an extra perk!
I earned my English degree at UCLA in 1996 and then attended California State University of Fullerton to obtain my teacher certification. After moving to Oklahoma, I earned a Master's degree at Oklahoma State University in 2005. My next major accomplishment was earning National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification in 2006.
After teaching for 14 years, I have found a new passion and love for my profession. I am a certified Reading Specialist, and I use each day to motivate students to read. I believe reading is the most important, and should be the most enjoyable, task in our lives.
Besides teaching and reading, my other loves are my family, friends, anything Disney related, and traveling. I hope you enjoy reading about my fairytale adventure - hopefully it will make you want to re-visit a magical classic tale!
